A playable San Francisco

SILK uses real building footprints and street paths, with authored architecture and first-person web traversal. This is a stylized reconstruction, not a survey or navigation service.

Geographic sources

Art references

Transamerica Pyramid, Embarcadero Center, Ferry Building, 555 California, and SFMTA cable cars. Photographs informed the modeling; none are used as game textures.

Rendering & audio

Three.js, MIT license. The atmospheric sky uses the Three.js r180 Sky module (MIT), based on the Preetham daylight model. Facades, cloud layer, water, props, and synthesized city audio are authored for this game. Supplied soundtrack files are included in the local build. Fonts: DM Sans via Google Fonts. Landmark silhouettes are authored approximations. Transamerica, 555 California, One Maritime Plaza, Ferry Building, Russ and Coit use transforms from their historical municipal footprints; Salesforce uses an authored modern location. Building foundations reconcile source elevations with the interpolated terrain. The shoreline continuously interpolates an offset from the mapped Embarcadero carriageways, with explicit wharf decks. Terminal canopies, market stalls and passengers are approximations.

Waterfront references: Ferry Building history and restoration and National Park Service: Central Embarcadero Piers Historic District. The Ferry clocktower proportions, warm gray stone, arcades and retained pier sheds are based on these references and the mapped building axes.
